Come up to the cooler climes over Labor Day weekend. Drive up on Friday or Saturday and stay as long as you want. My cabin is one hour East of Payson at 6500 foot elevation and has running water, a hot shower and all the major appliances. So this isn't roughing it. Sleep on the carpet or pitch a tent in back. While up in pine tree country, you can hike, bike, kayak or hit the antique stores. I have two bikes and two kayaks with all the gear. We'll bonfire at night and explore during the day.
